Real Estate With any business, location is key. There are many components to securing the best real estate. We help with site approval and the leasing process, giving you access to our real estate specialists.

Design and Construction After you’ve secured the perfect location, the process to build out your Phillips Seafood or Phillips Seafood Express begins, and whether it’s freestanding, airport, casino, resort, motorway, or stadium/arena location, we have you covered. Our timely design and décor packages celebrate our heritage and Chesapeake Bay nautical roots.

As private restaurateurs and franchisors, we understand the economic aspects of development. Over the years we have honed our skills regarding space, productivity, and development. We will assist you with design layout management, the permitting and construction process, and the initial equipment package and installation for your opening.

Training We’ll share everything we’ve learned along the way in our 100+ years in the industry, so you can focus on running a successful business from day one. You’ll receive training on operations, staffing and hiring, food preparation, and the customer experience. We have built our business on early mornings on the water, hard work, great food, innovation, and efficient operations. Our focus is on ROI. Low labor cost, efficient layout and workflow design are key to a successful restaurant and a priority for us.

The initial investment of a Phillips Seafood franchise varies based on the market and site selection as well as the restaurant concept you choose. However, the initial investment ranges from $1,331,500 to $1,961,585* for our Phillips Seafood concept and $500,970 to $841,600* for our Phillips Seafood Express concept.

Phillips Seafood

A dining experience focused on quality seafood products, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. Travelers can order up Phillips’ famous crab cakes, gourmet seafood soups, fresh salads, seafood appetizers, and entrées. Creative use of design materials results in a clean, crisp, timeless décor. Service is focused on shorter dining times with meals made to order. Specialty cocktails and wines make for an inviting bar experience. A “grab & go” component is available for meals on the run.

Phillips Seafood locations have had great success in airports, casinos and hotels; the concept is also the perfect choice for motorways, food courts, universities, and specialty sites.

Phillips Seafood Express

A food court and concession style dining experience featuring crab cake sandwiches, seafood soups, shrimp, fish, crab pretzels, salads and other popular items, this concept allows for a unique set of quality, made-to-order choices for diners with extremely high hourly through-put capability with relatively low cost of entry. Until Phillips Seafood Express, the fast casual market lacked a quality seafood option supported by a heritage brand name with demonstrated success in high-profile venues.

This concept works for new construction, retrofits, and non-vented sites and has been successful in food courts, in-line, casinos, airports and travel plazas. It would also be a good fit for theme parks and universities.

What makes Phillips Seafood different from similar franchising opportunities?

There are very few franchise opportunities focused on seafood. Phillips has been in the seafood business for over 100 years and is one of the most recognizable and marketable brands in the industry. Because seafood is a premium, the average check and margins are significantly higher than most other franchise opportunities.

How do I get started?

We start the process with a conversation to discuss your goals and experience and to get to know each other. We’ll also discuss what cities you would like to be located in. What does the initial investment cost cover?

The initial investment covers all franchise fees, equipment costs, construction and real estate costs, and training. For more details, please request our FDD.

Do I need previous experience?

Restaurant experience is preferred; however, we also offer management services outside of our franchise agreement.

Are multi-unit franchises available?

Yes! We welcome the opportunity to discuss the process for multi-unit ownership.

What are the initial fees?

The initial fees for a full service Phillips Seafood are $35,000 and $25,000 for a Phillips Seafood Express unit.

Will you assist me with my grand opening?

Yes. While a grand opening event isn’t required, upon request we will help you prepare for your big day so it can be as successful as possible.

How soon can I open?

We estimate that the time period between signing the License Agreement and the start of operations at the restaurant will be approximately six months for a Phillips Seafood Express and eight to ten months for a Phillips Seafood.

What does the training involve?

We provide a comprehensive training program at our headquarters for you or your principal operator, your manager, and your chef before your opening day. We cover the information necessary to successfully open and operate your new restaurant. We also offer ongoing training programs. Will you help me with equipment and products?

We are happy to help you with all Phillips brand specific products. We do not assist with equipment.
